Snuggle up to the Fire

Gas fireplace installed in the sunroom part of the cabin. This room will be fantastic on a cold, wintery day. There is a great view of the backyard through the french doors too boot! All you need is a steaming cup of joe, some fuzzy slippers and a turtleneck sweater to complete the vision of urban serenity.

We had one of these gas fireplace inserts when we bought our house, and removed it.
The U-clip on the flue that kept the pilot light from smothering us with CO gas also let the downdraft in our too-short chimney cool the whole house all winter, with the added benefit of keeping a nice cloud of warm air over the downwind neighbors' house.
The house is warmer, and our oil consumption is lower, since we gave the whole thing to my brother-in-law -- and I also scored about 30' of the black iron pipe which the POs [i.e., "Previous Owners," and also, how they make me feel when I tear out and replace one of their half-assed "projects"] had run across to the far corner of the garage and out along the deck to the giant gas tank they had installed. With a couple Pony pipe clamp kits, I can now clamp anything up to about 15' long! :7)

I often wonder if I will be known as a P.O.who unloaded a house full of half-assed 'projects'. That's my number two most frequent nightmare. Number one most frequent is that the new owners will install carpeting. I'll burn the thing down, I swear I will!!!
