The Perfect Gift

To be worn with pride, for sure.

Season's Greetings, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year!

We're hoping to start 2006 off just like 2005, with a luxurious tropical vacation to the Hawaiian island of Oahu, chillin' on the sand and watching the surf...check out our video! Alas, we will only be able to live vicariously via our memories and photos. Unless you know of someone who would like to buy a cute-as-heck, almost totally renovated house (known as 'Handyman Specials' in industry lingo).

Freshly Sanded Kitchen Floor

Psychedelic Bathroom Wallpaper of Yore

In the process of putting up wainscoting in the upstairs bathroom, I couldn't help but notice a colorful pattern just beneath a flaking layer of paint on the wall. Naturally I spent the next 2o minutes gently scraping the thin layer of paint off, revealing a small part of a much, much grander color scheme that was once in the bathroom.

That was the way (uh-huh, uh-huh) they liked it, back in the day.

Sanding the Floor

The lovely J, dressed in orange for the momentus occasion of sanding the kitchen floor. We love her for many reasons, but the reason that now tops the list is that she happily volunteered to do this dusty job. And she did a marvelous job.

Snuggle up to the Fire

Gas fireplace installed in the sunroom part of the cabin. This room will be fantastic on a cold, wintery day. There is a great view of the backyard through the french doors too boot! All you need is a steaming cup of joe, some fuzzy slippers and a turtleneck sweater to complete the vision of urban serenity.

First Snow!

Got 4 feet dumped on us. Good thing we cleaned up all of the scrap lumber from the backyard!
